Christmas Spirit

What is Christmas spirit? The story of the first Christmas isn't a fairy tale or a story only to be told at Christmastime. It is a true story of God's immense love for mankind.  God loved man so much that He sent His only Son to be born of a virgin, live a sinless life and die as a sacrifice for the sin of all men Many aspects make up the  the spirit of Christmas . Giving, hope, good cheer, love, understanding, helping, goodwill towards all people . These are the feelings of Christmas, The ideology we have been  taught through the ages, the ideas  that support the things that go along with this beautiful holiday like Presents, children, Xmas trees, decorations, parties, cookies & candy, and such. Christmas has tremendously lost its meaning over the years. It has become all about presents and receiving, especially for younger children. ... The whole idea of Christmas has nothing to do with its true meaning. Many children probably don't even know that we celebrate it beca

Getting Your Vehicle Ready For Winter

This list will help you avoid no-starts, frozen doors and windows, engine freeze-up and accidents. Plus, see our must-have winter car emergency kit. Test Your Car Battery Car batteries have a limited life. Don't wait for yours to fail and leave you stranded. You can check the condition of the battery, starting and entire charging system with a computerized battery tester. Besides testing voltage, a computerized battery tester checks for internal resistance and conductance, giving you a good idea of the battery's overall condition. Plus, the tester also checks the condition of your starter and alternator. Make sure you buy a battery tester that works on conventional lead acid batteries, as well as gel and absorbed glass mat (AGM) styles. That way you can use the same tester on your motorcycle and lawn and garden equipment. Don't want to invest in a tester? Here at Triple T we will check yours for free when we change your oil .  Clean Your Battery Terminals Corrosion buildup

The Wheels On The Bus Go Round And Round(Or Do They)

UNDERSTANDING TIRE RUN OUT Excessive vibration coming from a car’s tires can be a highly distressing phenomenon. Worse still, this issue tends to grow worse as time goes on, if not attended to quickly enough. In many cases, such vibration stems from a tire and wheel assembly that needs to be professionally rebalanced. Yet poor balance is hardly the only thing that can cause a car to vibrate. The phenomenon known as tire run out can also lead to vibrations. Unfortunately, many car owners fail to understand the nature of tire run out. This article will expand your understanding of tire run out, as well the role it plays in how your car handles and performs. Tire run out — also sometimes referred to as out-of-round — involves a tire which is no longer perfectly round. As a result, the tire’s balance will be thrown off. Up to a certain point, run out won’t affect the performance of a car. Yet once it reaches a critical threshold, problems like vibration and excessive wear will ensue. Tire

Know Your Automobile Know Your Gauges

KNOW YOUR DASHBOARD LIGHTS AND GAUGES Many drivers that have spent years behind the wheel are mostly familiar with the various lights, gauges and displays on a vehicle’s dash. The instrument panel–also called a gauge cluster–includes a speedometer and lots of little symbols that light up to provide information or warn of trouble. Some, like the seatbelt light, are self-explanatory. Others, like the infamous and often misunderstood check engine light, can mean any number of things. Many newer vehicles use lights in place of two of the analog gauges – coolant temperature and electrical voltage. Know these symbols. Either an overheating engine or a weak battery or electrical system could leave you stranded. Be familiar with the brake system and engine oil pressure lights, too. A brake failure could lead to an accident, and weak oil pressure could damage your vehicle’s engine. Newer vehicles may also be equipped with a low tire pressure warning light or a display that shows tire pressure.

The truth about your car's A/C and how to make it work for you

It’s summer and it's hot, and that  means your car's air-conditioning system is going to get a workout. But there's an art to cooling your car correctly. Here at Triple T Tire and Auto Service we  have some handy tips to help you cool your car faster while burning less fuel.  Don’t Pre-Cool Your car air conditioning works much better when you're actually driving, because the faster the engine turns, the faster the A/C compressor runs, which lets the system cool more effectively. Don't waste time and gas by letting your car run before you go. That was a new one on me i always let my truck run for a bit to cool down the cab.  If the interior is really hot, crank up the fan when you start driving, and open just the rear windows for 10 to 20 seconds. This forces all the hot air out of the cabin. Don’t open the front windows—that only moves the heat out of the front of the car, and it will leave the air in the back of the cabin hot and stagnant.  Go Low Settin

Vehicle Inspections And Why We Need Them

Why is it important to have your car inspected? A vehicle inspection is important for you, and your vehicle. A vehicle inspection is important for any and every car that is out on the road. When you have your vehicle inspected, not only is it to ensure that you're safe while driving around, but that everyone else is safe, as well. he first testing that is done through vehicle inspection is a safety test. The air bags, tires, horn, wipers, lights and other components that would deem the vehicle safe to drive are all checked. This is to ensure that everyone within the vehicle is going to be safe when it is driven around. In addition, the motor, brakes and other components are thoroughly checked to ensure that the vehicle can operate on the road without putting harm to the other vehicles that it comes across. Vehicle inspections  are important to have. In order to ensure that your vehicle is safe for everyone to be driving around in, and to protect the safety of others, this is s

The Pothole Peril

Avoiding Potholes Hitting a pothole with your car can cause a great deal of damage to your car, particularly to the tires, rims, suspension and chassis. Because of this, it’s imperative that you take the proper precautions to keep your car out of harm’s way. Obviously, your best course of action is to avoid hitting any potholes; however, that’s not always possible. Keep these seven tips in mind to help minimize vehicle damage: 1. Slow down The faster you’re driving when you hit a pothole, the worse the damage is likely to be 2. Give some space Should the car in front of you fail to avoid a pothole, you’ll give yourself the time to react and avoid the same fate if you leave a good deal of space between you and the other driver 3. Prepare for puddles When you see a puddle in the middle of the road, it’s impossible to know how deep that crater will be, so be very cautious 4. Hold tight Potholes can cause a violent jolt to your car, so it’s very important that you have a

It's Time For A Change

Myself and a lot of other service writers can attest to the broad gap in mileages when it comes to changing oil on a customer's vehicle, no big deal right?  Wrong , Wrong , Wrong Let's discuss why that oil change is so important. What do oil changes do for your car? Oil lubricates the engine and absorbs heat, allowing the internal parts to work together effectively without overheating. Over time, engine oil breaks down and wears out. When it does, it becomes less effective at lubricating the engine and absorbing heat. What happens if you don't change the oil in your car? The most common issue is that the parts in your engine will become too hot. This can cause the engine to run less efficiently, and as time goes on, it can cause the engine components to warp and wear out. ... Eventually, if the oil is not changed, the entire engine will shut down and have to be replaced. Can you just add oil instead of changing? NO NO NO (Not A Good Idea) Add oil to the car i
