It's Time For A Change

Myself and a lot of other service writers can attest to the broad gap in mileages when it comes to changing oil on a customer's vehicle, no big deal right?  Wrong , Wrong , Wrong
Let's discuss why that oil change is so important.
What do oil changes do for your car?
Oil lubricates the engine and absorbs heat, allowing the internal parts to work together effectively without overheating. Over time, engine oil breaks down and wears out. When it does, it becomes less effective at lubricating the engine and absorbing heat.
What happens if you don't change the oil in your car?
The most common issue is that the parts in your engine will become too hot. This can cause the engine to run less efficiently, and as time goes on, it can cause the engine components to warp and wear out. ... Eventually, if the oil is not changed, the entire engine will shut down and have to be replaced.
Can you just add oil instead of changing? NO NO NO (Not A Good Idea)
Add oil to the car if the dipstick reading is near the minimum line. You should top up your car immediately if you are at or below the proper oil level to prevent damage to your car. Adding oil to your car, however, is not a substitute for replacing your oil on a regular basis.

What happens if you dont change oil filter?
Your engine requires a tremendous volume of clean oil to operate properly. If the oil filter is not changed periodically, the filter can become severely clogged, reducing the volume of oil passing through the filter and into your engine. Without this oil, your engine can suffer severe damage.

(Summer's Coming) Getting Ready For The Road  This past weekend my bitter half and I .. Oops I mean my better half and I hit the road for a couple's weekend retreat, It was a small one 500 miles round trip. I put My old trusty steed the gas hog in the garage and decide to rent a small compact economy car . No Bump No Grind Why Change Struts When They Ride Fine

 This is a question we all have heard after recommending replacement of the your  struts and/or shock absorbers on a vehicle. This recommendation is usually made based on a visual inspection of your vehicle's suspension components it could be your shocks , struts or the front steering system.
