PERIL AT THE PUMPS . 02/18/2019

02/18/2019 PERIL AT THE PUMPS      There is literally no way around it, You have got to pull in to the gas pumps and filler up with fuels containing more than 10% ethanol. You probably thinking so no big deal right. Wrong!  Although these blended fuels burn cleaner than pure gasoline, the ethanol absorbs moisture from the air. Over time, that water can separate and drop, along with the ethanol, to the bottom of your fuel tank. This is when problems like corrosion, stalling and engine damage start.  So you see, Not only do you have fuel pumping through your lines but also moisture.    Let’s first discuss the main issues.  WHAT are THE BIGGEST PROBLEMS WITH ETHANOL? KEEP ON TRUCKING . 02/09/2019

02/09/2019 KEEP ON TRUCKING                In today’s economy most households are a 2 to 3 car family in some cases even 4, So that means families are keeping automobiles longer and longer.  What used to hand me down clothes now hand me down autos. We all laughed at my owners youngest son. I saw my boss’s 2002 F150 driven Ford tough by him for several years, I started in 2010 and he was driving it then. Well in 2014 it got a facelift and some new shoes and then the oldest son adopted this little fellow at 16 years of age, But wait we’re not done yet. The youngest son adopted the trusty steed in 2017 with a little internal makeover and it’s like the little energizer bunny it keeps going and going.            The point is, it is possible to keep a vehicle longer than we did years ago. New tires, brakes, and regular ...

I'M A LITTLE TEA POT

Image
11/15/2018 I'M A LITTLE TEAPOT WHY IS MY OIL LIGHT ON? When your vehicle warns you of an oil problem, what looks like an old-fashioned oil can will illuminate on your dashboard. If the oil light comes on while you are driving, get to a safe place and turn the engine off immediately. It is important to stop driving your vehicle because you may have run out of oil. That could lead to a break down, putting you and other drivers at risk. Testing your luck and driving with your oil light on can also cause extensive damage to your vehicle’s engine.   Just last week I had a young driver come into my shop with the above indicator on.. I asked if I could help them and was stumped by the response.. Why is the teapot light on..teapot light???  Yea this thingy  here.. So from a teapot light to a finger pointing at a thingy I determined the low oil light was on..I checked the oil and it wasn't showing on the oil dipstick..I got the vehicle topped off with the corr...
